Los esfuerzos del pa\u00eds por salir de dos d\u00e9cadas de inestabilidad pol\u00edtica y conflictos violentos han provocado un aumento de la presi\u00f3n sobre sus bosques a causa del desarrollo agr\u00edcola y las industrias extractivas, mientras que la tala ilegal tambi\u00e9n est\u00e1 muy extendida.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Los esfuerzos para conservar los bosques, como la reducci\u00f3n de las emisiones derivadas de la deforestaci\u00f3n y la degradaci\u00f3n (REDD+) y la red de \u00e1reas estrictamente protegidas, a menudo han apuntado err\u00f3neamente a las comunidades como agentes de la destrucci\u00f3n de los bosques, lo que ha supuesto una mayor vulneraci\u00f3n de sus derechos sobre la tierra y los recursos.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, desde 2016 la RDC tambi\u00e9n cuenta con las leyes sobre silvicultura comunitaria posiblemente m\u00e1s progresistas de la regi\u00f3n. Esto ha permitido a las comunidades asegurar sus derechos colectivos sobre sus tierras tradicionales por primera vez, y ahora tienen la oportunidad de gestionarlas de una manera que preserve tanto sus medios de vida como el bosque. Una nueva ley de Pueblos Ind\u00edgenas tambi\u00e9n promete nuevas protecciones y derechos para su poblaci\u00f3n aut\u00f3ctona.<\/p>\n\t<div class=\"map_wrapper\" id=\"map_wrapper_7681\">\n<div class=\"map_box\" style=\"max-width:400px\">\n<div class=\"map_aspect_ratio\" style=\"padding-top:100%\" data-padding-top=\"100%\" data-padding-top-mobile=\"100%\">\n<div class=\"map_container\">\n<div class=\"map_render map_loading\" id=\"map_7681\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>\n\t\tNuestros impactos\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<ul>\n<li class=\"translation-block\">Con nuestros socios, hemos hecho campa\u00f1a durante a\u00f1os para conseguir una legislaci\u00f3n innovadora que permitiera a las comunidades proteger sus bosques. Ahora, esta ley es una realidad y m\u00e1s de <a href=\"https:\/\/rdc.geocfcl.org\/\" target=\"_self\">tres millones de hect\u00e1reas han sido designadas bosques comunitarios en todo el pa\u00eds<\/a>. Directamente, hemos ayudado a asegurar 120.000 hect\u00e1reas para m\u00e1s de 28.000 personas, que ya ven mejoras en su calidad de vida.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Hemos luchado con \u00e9xito por un <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/es\/44-ong-congolenas-e-internacionales-se-unen-al-llamamiento-para-que-no-se-levante-la-moratoria-sobre-la-tala-de-arboles-en-la-rdc\/\">moratoria nacional sobre nuevas concesiones madereras<\/a> - protegiendo hasta 70 millones de hect\u00e1reas de la industria maderera. Sobre el terreno, nuestro trabajo de vigilancia en tiempo real condujo a los primeros cargos penales del pa\u00eds contra una empresa maderera en virtud del C\u00f3digo Forestal de 2002, as\u00ed como al reconocimiento legal de la vigilancia forestal comunitaria. \u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Nuestras investigaciones, acciones legales e incesantes campa\u00f1as sobre el impacto humano de <a href=\"https:\/\/staging.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/severe-human-rights-abuses-reported-salonga-national-park.pdf\">conservaci\u00f3n militarizada en la RDC<\/a> condujo a la primera condena de agentes de la lucha contra la caza furtiva por abusos de los derechos humanos en el pa\u00eds. fortalezas\" de Occidente se basa en la peligrosa pero persistente idea de que hay que separar a la poblaci\u00f3n local de la naturaleza para mantenerla \"pr\u00edstina\" (a veces en beneficio de turistas extranjeros).
