En realidad, la tala rara vez ha demostrado ser sostenible, ya que la mayor\u00eda de las operaciones se han basado casi por completo en la \"miner\u00eda\" de los bosques antiguos para una gama limitada de especies de \u00e1rboles, lo que significa que la industria depende de la conversi\u00f3n de las concesiones a otros usos, como las plantaciones comerciales o la apertura de nuevas \u00e1reas de bosques previamente no talados. Incluso en los casos en que la tala es selectiva, las carreteras necesarias para transportar la madera pueden provocar una \"cascada de deforestaci\u00f3n\" con la entrada de madereros ilegales, agricultores y cazadores furtivos.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque se afirma que la industria proporciona puestos de trabajo, ingresos, infraestructuras y desarrollo en zonas rurales remotas, lo cierto es que el trabajo de tala suele estar mal pagado y ser peligroso y temporal. Se sabe que la industria maderera est\u00e1 plagada de ilegalidades, conflictos sociales y una profunda corrupci\u00f3n de las instituciones pol\u00edticas, mientras que los beneficios en forma de impuestos suelen ser escasos, sobre todo teniendo en cuenta la vasta superficie forestal que abarca.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/staging.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/570-1.jpg\" alt=\"570\" itemprop=\"image\" title=\"570\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n<h2>\n\t\tNuestra posici\u00f3n\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<p>Cualquier expansi\u00f3n de la tala industrial en los bosques tropicales ir\u00eda acompa\u00f1ada de muchos problemas extremadamente graves y pocos beneficios duraderos. Por el contrario, la industria deber\u00eda reducirse a un nivel en el que pueda regularse adecuadamente y los bosques deber\u00edan estar cada vez m\u00e1s bajo el control de las comunidades locales e ind\u00edgenas.<\/p>\n<h2>\n\t\tQu\u00e9 estamos haciendo\n\t<\/h2>\n\t<ul>\n<li>Junto con nuestros socios, RFUK aborda la tala industrial a distintos niveles. A nivel local, apoyamos a las comunidades para que conozcan sus derechos, negocien con las empresas madereras y vigilen sus bosques con nuestra tecnolog\u00eda ForestLink, aumentando la transparencia y reduciendo las ilegalidades en estas zonas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A escala nacional, investigamos las repercusiones directas e indirectas de la tala y sacamos a la luz la mala gobernanza forestal. En la Rep\u00fablica Democr\u00e1tica del Congo, esto ha llevado a la cancelaci\u00f3n de decenas de concesiones ilegales y a una moratoria nacional de la tala, lo que ha impedido que 70 millones de
