Ha hecho falta dedicaci\u00f3n, pasi\u00f3n y meses de entrenamiento, pero este mes nuestro equipo del Marat\u00f3n de Londres ha salido a correr por la selva tropical, recaudando hasta el momento la asombrosa cifra de 12.700 libras esterlinas al correr cada uno m\u00e1s de 26 millas en apoyo de RFUK.<\/p>\n

Los siete corredores proced\u00edan de entornos y niveles de experiencia muy variados, desde los que corr\u00edan su primer marat\u00f3n hasta los que iban por el decimotercero.<\/p>\n

Alex fue una de nuestras siete corredoras del Marat\u00f3n de Londres de este a\u00f1o, y viaj\u00f3 desde Luisiana, Estados Unidos. Le preguntamos por su motivaci\u00f3n para recaudar fondos para RFUK. Esto es lo que nos dijo:<\/p>\n

\"En 2016 recorr\u00ed el Camino Inca hasta Machu Picchu y me asombr\u00e9 a cada paso de mi caminata de 48 kil\u00f3metros. Me llev\u00f3 a trav\u00e9s de la selva amaz\u00f3nica y vi lo hermosa que era y lo valiosa que era la tierra para los ind\u00edgenas peruanos. Desde este viaje, he querido hacer un esfuerzo para apoyar la sostenibilidad de esas hermosas vistas y de las personas que lo llaman hogar. Por eso decid\u00ed atarme las zapatillas de correr y recorrer 26,2 millas para apoyar la conservaci\u00f3n de la selva tropical y los derechos humanos con Rainforest Foundation UK. Qu\u00e9 mejor manera de apoyar una causa que significa tanto para m\u00ed!\".<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Elin, que trabaja en el equipo de cartograf\u00eda de RFUK como coordinadora de SIG, bases de datos y sitios web, corri\u00f3 su primer marat\u00f3n:<\/p>\n

\"Estoy orgullosa de haberme presentado como candidata de una organizaci\u00f3n tan incre\u00edble. Llevo m\u00e1s de un a\u00f1o trabajando para RFUK y he sido testigo de primera mano del incre\u00edble trabajo que realizan con las comunidades locales para ayudarles a defender sus derechos y proteger su medio ambiente.\"<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Le pedimos a Elin que nos diera sus mejores consejos para futuros maratonianos, basados en su propia experiencia de entrenamiento para el gran d\u00eda. Esto es lo que nos dijo:<\/p>\n

  1. No te excedas en el entrenamiento. Si te lesionas, no te estreses y t\u00f3mate tu tiempo para recuperarte.<\/li>\n
  2. \u00a1En cuclillas, en cuclillas, en cuclillas! Aseg\u00farate de encontrar tiempo para incluir ejercicios de fuerza en tu plan de entrenamiento. Te ayudar\u00e1n a prevenir muchas de las lesiones asociadas a las carreras de larga distancia.<\/li>\n
  3. Disfrute. Disfruta del ambiente que se respira a lo largo del recorrido, ya que todo acabar\u00e1 antes de que te des cuenta.<\/li>\n
