{"id":2219,"date":"2017-05-22T00:00:05","date_gmt":"2017-05-22T00:00:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/?p=2219"},"modified":"2022-07-19T15:48:29","modified_gmt":"2022-07-19T15:48:29","slug":"que-protege-la-selva-tropical","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/es\/que-protege-la-selva-tropical\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00bfQui\u00e9n protege la selva tropical?"},"content":{"rendered":"<iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ke9Ti2GE-7Q\" title=\"Reproductor de v\u00eddeo YouTube\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n\t<p>Con motivo del D\u00eda Mundial de la Biodiversidad, hemos publicado el segundo v\u00eddeo de nuestra serie de vlogs Rainforest Parks &amp; People.\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Ke9Ti2GE-7Q\">En este v\u00eddeo<\/a><\/strong>en la Rep\u00fablica Democr\u00e1tica del Congo (RDC) planteamos una pregunta sencilla:\u00a0<em>\"\u00bfQu\u00e9 significa el bosque para ti?\"<\/em><\/p>\n<p>La respuesta que segu\u00edamos escuchando era muy clara, y la resumi\u00f3 mejor Jean-Marie, jefe del \"groupement\" Tafutuma:\u00a0<em>\"El bosque es nuestro futuro, es nuestra vida\"...<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Aunque cada a\u00f1o se invierten cientos de millones de d\u00f3lares en programas de conservaci\u00f3n de la naturaleza, apenas se hacen esfuerzos reales por comprender mejor c\u00f3mo interact\u00faan las comunidades locales de la selva tropical con su entorno. De hecho, los programas de conservaci\u00f3n (dise\u00f1ados principalmente en Europa y Estados Unidos) suelen considerar a las comunidades locales como amenazas para la biodiversidad y como personas a las que hay que \"educar\" sobre su propio entorno. Todo esto pasa por alto el hecho de que estas personas son conservacionistas naturales con conocimientos detallados sobre c\u00f3mo preservar la biodiversidad.<\/p>\n<p>Al no trabajar en aut\u00e9ntica colaboraci\u00f3n con las comunidades forestales tradicionales, los conservacionistas est\u00e1n perdiendo una enorme oportunidad de proteger mejor los ecosistemas. Esto es especialmente cierto en lo que respecta a\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/staging.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/es\/un-informe-de-la-onu-destaca-el-impacto-de-los-esfuerzos-de-conservacion-en-los-pueblos-indigenas-del-mundo\/\">grupos ind\u00edgenas<\/a><\/strong>Los pueblos ind\u00edgenas s\u00f3lo representan el 5% de la poblaci\u00f3n mundial, pero ocupan tierras que albergan alrededor de 80% de la biodiversidad mundial.<\/p>\n<p>En el marco de nuestra labor en la selva tropical de la cuenca del Congo, hemos trabajado con miles de estas personas en cientos de comunidades. Basta pasar cinco minutos con muchos de ellos para comprender hasta qu\u00e9 punto sus pr\u00e1cticas consuetudinarias han interiorizado la idea de conservar la biodiversidad.<\/p>\n<p>Las comunidades conservan celosamente las zonas forestales consideradas sagradas y tienen prohibida la caza de animales con un significado especial, como los bonobos y los leopardos, o la tala de determinadas especies de \u00e1rboles. Como explica un subjefe de la aldea de Mpoka:\u00a0<strong><em>\"Aqu\u00ed est\u00e1 prohibido cortar madera, aunque el pueblo est\u00e9 cerca. Si alguna vez ves un \u00e1rbol con la corteza pelada, s\u00f3lo se ha hecho para fabricar medicinas tradicionales...\".<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Para estas comunidades, proteger la biodiversidad de la selva no es s\u00f3lo una norma cultural, es un imperativo existencial.
