{"id":960,"date":"2021-05-05T00:00:10","date_gmt":"2021-05-05T00:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staging.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/?p=960"},"modified":"2022-10-13T12:10:54","modified_gmt":"2022-10-13T12:10:54","slug":"una-nueva-investigacion-de-la-rfuk-muestra-la-relacion-entre-la-gestion-forestal-sostenible-y-la-deforestacion-en-la-rdc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/staging.rainforestfoundationuk.org\/es\/una-nueva-investigacion-de-la-rfuk-muestra-la-relacion-entre-la-gestion-forestal-sostenible-y-la-deforestacion-en-la-rdc\/","title":{"rendered":"Una nueva investigaci\u00f3n de RFUK muestra la relaci\u00f3n entre la \"gesti\u00f3n forestal sostenible\" y la deforestaci\u00f3n en la RDC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Un nuevo estudio publicado por RFUK establece un claro v\u00ednculo entre la tala selectiva y la deforestaci\u00f3n en el segundo bosque tropical m\u00e1s grande del mundo.<\/p>\r\n<p>A pesar de ser sin\u00f3nimo de corrupci\u00f3n a alto nivel, pr\u00e1cticas ilegales y malas relaciones con las comunidades locales, la tala selectiva de madera de los bosques tropicales h\u00famedos se ha promovido durante mucho tiempo en la cuenca del Congo como una forma de gesti\u00f3n forestal sostenible y una alternativa preferible desde el punto de vista medioambiental a la p\u00e9rdida total de bosques por tala para la agricultura.<\/p>\r\n<p>Nuestra investigaci\u00f3n explor\u00f3 este enfoque de \"usarlo o perderlo\", calculando la p\u00e9rdida de bosques en 60 concesiones madereras y ocho zonas de \"control\" en la RDC, y descubri\u00f3 que la realidad es m\u00e1s bien \"usarlo Y perderlo\". Las principales conclusiones fueron las siguientes:<\/p>\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Existe una clara relaci\u00f3n entre el establecimiento de explotaciones forestales comerciales y una \"cascada de deforestaci\u00f3n\" que puede producirse hasta 10-15 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de que las carreteras forestales abran nuevas zonas forestales a los asentamientos y otros usos. En estos casos, la agricultura a peque\u00f1a escala puede no ser un \"motor\" subyacente de la deforestaci\u00f3n, sino una causa pr\u00f3xima de la misma.<\/li>\r\n<li>Gran parte de lo que se ha descrito como deforestaci\u00f3n es, en realidad, un sistema de p\u00e9rdida y rebrote de bosques debido a las pr\u00e1cticas agr\u00edcolas de rotaci\u00f3n que forman parte del \"complejo rural\".<\/li>\r\n<li>Existe un fen\u00f3meno inexplicable que provoca un pico de p\u00e9rdida de bosques en la RDC cada 5 a\u00f1os aproximadamente. Una explicaci\u00f3n provisional es que la periodicidad coincide con los efectos clim\u00e1ticos regionales del ciclo de El Ni\u00f1o.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p>Estos resultados iniciales confirman la existencia de una relaci\u00f3n entre la existencia de concesiones madereras y la posterior deforestaci\u00f3n, y apuntan a la necesidad de realizar evaluaciones m\u00e1s detalladas y matizadas de la deforestaci\u00f3n dentro de las concesiones anteriores y actuales, as\u00ed como de los factores emergentes, como el desarrollo de infraestructuras y la expansi\u00f3n de la agroindustria. Sin embargo, la deforestaci\u00f3n general en las concesiones, superior a la media -en algunos casos por un factor de tres o m\u00e1s-, tiene serias implicaciones para los esfuerzos de formulaci\u00f3n de pol\u00edticas para reducir las emisiones derivadas de la deforestaci\u00f3n y la degradaci\u00f3n (REDD+) en la RDC, as\u00ed como para la moratoria nacional sobre la tala. Las pruebas indican que, en lugar de aplicar la m\u00e1xima injustificadamente optimista de \"\u00fasalo o pi\u00e9rdelo\" a la tala comercial en bosques como los del Congo, deber\u00eda aplicarse el t\u00e9rmino \"\u00fasalo y pi\u00e9rdelo\".<\/p>\r\n<p>Sin embargo, a pesar de la tendencia al alza de la deforestaci\u00f3n en las concesiones, el an\u00e1lisis inicial de las zonas ahora designadas como concesiones forestales comunitarias arroja resultados esperanzadores. All\u00ed se descubri\u00f3 que la tasa de deforestaci\u00f3n era 23% inferior a la media nacional y 46% inferior a la de las concesiones madereras, lo que ofrece una alternativa mejor a las pr\u00e1cticas actuales y una v\u00eda de posibilidad a explorar como opci\u00f3n pol\u00edtica principal.<\/p>\r\n<p>En palabras de Joe Eisen, Director de RFUK,<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\r\n<blockquote>\r\n<p><em>\"Esta investigaci\u00f3n desmonta a\u00fan m\u00e1s el mito de que la tala industrial puede hacerse sostenible de alg\u00fan modo en la RDC y en otros lugares de los tr\u00f3picos.
