L\u2019id\u00e9e, soutenue par la communaut\u00e9 internationale et les bailleurs, est de pr\u00e9server ces for\u00eats de toute activit\u00e9 humaine.<\/p>\r\n<p>Si prot\u00e9ger les for\u00eats est d\u2019une importance majeure, la cr\u00e9ation d\u2019aires prot\u00e9g\u00e9es \u00ab strictes \u00bb par le pass\u00e9 a entrain\u00e9 le d\u00e9placement et l\u2019appauvrissement de communaut\u00e9s locales et autochtones.  Cette approche n\u2019est pas seulement profond\u00e9ment injuste envers ceux qui ont habit\u00e9 et fa\u00e7onn\u00e9 ces \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes depuis des mill\u00e9naires, mais \u00e9galement d\u2019une efficacit\u00e9 douteuse en mati\u00e8re de protection de la biodiversit\u00e9 et d\u2019att\u00e9nuation du changement climatique.<\/p>\r\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Les preuves abondent \u00e0 travers le monde \u2013 notamment de la part de la Rapporteur Sp\u00e9ciale des Nations Unies sur les droits peuples autochtones \u2013 montrant que les for\u00eats g\u00e9r\u00e9es par les communaut\u00e9s locales et autochtones se portent mieux que celles ayant \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9limit\u00e9es en aires prot\u00e9g\u00e9es strictes, bas\u00e9es sur l\u2019exclusion des peuples et la r\u00e9pression autoritaire de leurs activit\u00e9s.<\/p>\r\n<p>Un chef de village vivant dans une aire prot\u00e9g\u00e9e en R\u00e9publique D\u00e9mocratique du Congo nous a expliqu\u00e9:\u00a0<em>\"Nous avons le devoir de prot\u00e9ger nos for\u00eats pour l'avenir de nos enfants. Notre for\u00eat nous aide \u00e0 \u00e9duquer nos enfants, \u00e0 les maintenir en bonne sant\u00e9, \u00e0 nourrir nos familles... Notre for\u00eat, c'est notre avenir, c'est notre vie.\"<\/em><\/p>\r\n<p>En 2016, RFUK avait examin\u00e9 les dysfonctionnements des efforts de conservation dans un rapport,\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mappingforrights.org\/resource\/protected-areas-in-the-congo-basin-failing-both-people-and-biodiversity-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aires prot\u00e9g\u00e9es dans le bassin du Congo : un \u00e9chec pour les peuples et la biodiversit\u00e9<\/a><\/strong>, o\u00f9 nous avions pass\u00e9 au crible les impacts de 34 aires prot\u00e9g\u00e9es de la r\u00e9gion sur les droits et moyens de subsistance des communaut\u00e9s locales.<\/p>\r\n<p>En vue d\u2019encourager des pratiques de conservation plus respectueuses des populations, nous lan\u00e7ons maintenant une s\u00e9rie de blogs et de films intitul\u00e9e \u2018Rainforest Parks and People\u2019. En commen\u00e7ant par un aper\u00e7u des raisons pour lesquelles les populations sont d\u2019une importance centrale pour la conservation \u2013 et ce qui arrive lorsqu\u2019on les n\u00e9glige \u2013 les films et blogs incluront des t\u00e9moignages des communaut\u00e9s locales et couvriront un \u00e9ventail de questions, allant de la diff\u00e9rence entre chasse de subsistance et braconnage de grande \u00e9chelle, \u00e0 l\u2019importance de s\u00e9curiser les droits fonciers, en passant par les violations de droits humains aux mains des gardes forestiers ou encore la relation ambigu\u00eb qu\u2019entretiennent les organismes de conservation avec le secteur forestier industriel.<\/p>\r\n<p>Nous esp\u00e9rons que ces films donneront un visage humain aux enjeux de protection de la nature et mettront en lumi\u00e8re les impacts d\u00e9vastateurs que des programmes de conservation mal con\u00e7us peuvent avoir sur les hommes. Il s\u2019agit aussi d\u2019engager une discussion sur comment \u00e9viter de r\u00e9p\u00e9ter les erreurs du pass\u00e9 \u2013 pour le bien \u00e0 la fois des peuples et de la plan\u00e8te.<\/p>\r\n\t<h3>La base de donn\u00e9es \u2018Rainforest Parks and People\u2019<\/h3>\r\n<p class=\"translation-block\">Dans l\u2019optique de renforcer la transparence et l\u2019examen public des efforts de conservation dans la r\u00e9gion, nous avons aussi lanc\u00e9 un nouveau site interactif sur les impacts des aires prot\u00e9g\u00e9es sur les peuples. En se basant sur des informations disponibles au public ainsi que des enqu\u00eates de terrain de RFUK,<a href=\"http:\/\/rainforestparksandpeople.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> \u2018Rainforest Parks and People\u2019<\/a> pr\u00e9sente des informations sur 34 aires prot\u00e9g\u00e9es, mettant en \u00e9vidence leurs impacts sur les hommes qui y vivent et en d\u00e9pendent.
